The influence of various Bauhaus masters is visible in the carpet’s pattern, which is kept in light and friendly colours. The frequently employed basic shape of the square is the object of creative experimentation and the main instrument for testing the effect of the primary colours in areas with boundaries – a topic that interested Itten and Kandinsky to a greater degree than the others. Finely nuanced gradations of the grey and green areas are reminiscent of Klee's teachings about colour.
